Great outdoor pants!
These are simply the best Softshell Pant that I have ever owned. These pants are so versatile, it is Sweet. I have been using them a lot for hiking, camping, climbing. They are unusually comfortable and windproof. It is so amazing a pant so windproof, breathable and water resistant can be so comfortable and form fitting. If you are thinking about getting a pair of these for any alpine pursuit, these are a sound purchase.

Comfortable and Hardwearing
Bottomline. This is a very comfortable pair of pants that will just about take anything thrown at it. The Good. The pants are made from "SOFTech" material that is elastic, making them very comfortable to wear for an extended time. The material also is a micro-weave, so they are hardwearing and does not fray. There are a total of four pockets: one in each lap, one back pocket, and one thigh pocket on the right side. Each pocket has a drawcord to allow for easy access. During my recent 12 mile hike on a 50 degree weather, the pants performed well by allowing ventilation of moisture and maintaining comfortable body temperature. The Bad. These pants generally come in limited lengths. I generally wear 29-30 inseam with 30-32 waist. I took mine (32 waist) to my dry cleaners to take at least 2 inches off the cuff. Also, because the pants are elastic they were being pushed down by my heavy backpack (65). I wished Mammut had put some sort of silicon tape inside the waist to prevent slippage.

Great Mountain Pant
I had to wear these a few times before reviewing. I saw them in Outside Magazine and since I'm a Mammut fan, I thought I'd give them a try. I think they are great for hiking in the mountains where temps might be cool and afternoon showers could happen. I've used them in 60-70 degrees for hiking and they were fine. I don't think I would want to wear them in much warmer weather. These pants are meticulously constructed as all Mammut products are.
