Perfect Base Layer
I purchased the shirt to wear as a base layer for cold weather hiking/trekking and skiing, and needed a shirt that is warm but also vents well. I found it in the Mammut Zip All-Year Longsleeve Shirt. It is made of 3 different moisture wicking fabrics that are strategically placed around the body to maintain the optimum body temperature; the fabrics are very soft and comfortable. It is beautifully designed and the color blocks give a slimming effect. It fits true to size; I am 5'-4", 108 lbs, size 0/XS, ordered a XS and it fits perfectly - with rooms to move comfortably yet still form fitting. To test the performance, I wore it out in the winter blizzard (snowy day with temperature below 20 F), with a fleece mid-layer and a light down jacket, and I was warm. It breathes really well when wearing alone on the treadmill in the gym, which is very important to me as my body tends to heat up quickly in active sports. The zip provides extra versatility when you need more ventilation. And I love the logo, couldn't be happier with the purchase!
