Mountain Hardwear Men's Mesa Pants

Throw on a pack, toss your cares aside, and hit the trails, in your Men's Mountain Hardwear Mesa Pants. A rugged, yet handsome, full-featured backpacking pant, the Mesa sports Mountain Hardwear's patented, award winning Micro-Chamois lined seamless conical waist. The conical shape keeps fabric from folding and bunching, and the lack of side seams eliminates doubled up fabric, which can chafe under a pack belt. Fit, comfort and mobility is further enhanced by the full-length inseam gusset and articulated knees. The relaxed fit also helps makes boulder hopping a snap, and if you do end up in the drink, mesh drain panels in the pockets will help shed water. Get the fit, comfort, and design required for long days on the trail with the Mesa Pants for men from Mountain Hardwear.

Superb Pants
These pants just plain rock! Solid performance on tough movie film sets while wearing a Steadicam, which adds up to 85 pounds to my body, means this design and execution was just right.

Comfortable and Utilitarian
I am 6' 1" tall and weigh 170 pounds. I bought medium size and they fit me perfectly. The pants are very lightweight. The Mountain Hardware inside lined waist is a nice touch and makes the pants very comfortable to wear. I have not had them long enough to judge durability. Overall am happy with this purchase and will buy additional pairs when needed.

Another Winner
I haven't worn these on the trail yet but they're nicely detailed, typical of MHW clothing lines (articulated knees, built-in belt, etc). My long-time favorite for general travel is still the Canyon pants for its utility, comfort and clean lines but this pair would definitely serve better for backpacking with its waist area lined with micro-Chammy and cargo pockets placed to accommodate pack belts. Made from the same Canyon cloth, it's quick drying and also suitable for hot climates. As far as durability, they probably won't match the old Pack pants and its heavier fabric; but I also have Canyon pants that are more than 5 years old. I expect these to perform similarly.
