Pretty Solid Down Jacket
Firstly, let me say that I spent quite some time looking into various down jackets. Among these were The North Face Thunder Down Jacket, Patagonia Down Sweater, and Mountain Hardwear Phantom Jacket. For the specs, features, and preferred cut, I believe this to be the best purchase for the price. THE GOOD The jacket is EXTREMELY lightweight and compressible and YET surprisingly very warm. So far I have used it alone, used it with a light fleece underneath, and also used it as my insulation layer. Depending on the weather, it definitely served its purpose. Though it is not a rain jacket, it withstood an unexpected down pour. The added DWR is definitely a plus...you never know when you will get a few sprinkles. For those of you with longer arms and broader shoulders, this jacket is perfect. I have found that other down jackets short change me on the arm lengths. The center back length of this jacket is also a bit longer than most down jackets, which is also good and helps keep the cold wind from creeping inside. (FYI- I am about 5' 6" , 140 lbs, torso length of 16") There is also a pretty decently sized pocket (without a zipper) on the interior of the jacket which proved to be quite useful. THE BAD So far my only complaints are the feathers from time to time sneaking out (which I am sure is common to all down jackets). The zipper is a bit sticky at times, which could just be a manufacturer defect. Lastly, I think that I could have used one more pocket. BRIEF COMPARISON TO MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PHANTOM JACKET: Nitrous is way lighter, less puffy, a bit less warm, has less pockets, and different horizontal stitching pattern (as opposed to the squared design of Phantom). Both are light weight, compressible, and keep you warm. It just depends on how warm you want to be. I borrowed my friend's Phantom jacket prior to this purchase and found that I got too hot.

Amazing
Bought this for an 8 day backpacking expedition in the Sierra Nevada range. Had an unexpected snow storm in Oct and camped and hiked in snow for five days. I was never cold. It's amazing that this tiny lightweiight jacket could pack into such a tiny space and add so much warmth. Love it. Wont' every backpack without it.
