I love these shoes
I have owned the alvord IIIs, I just bought my 2nd and 3rd pair of these. I love them for running in general, because they are comfortable all terrain shoes. For running anywhere.

Comfortable shoe, lousy quality
I was so excited about getting these shoes because they look so cool and would be my first pair of trail running shoes. However, the second time I went to put them on, my foot crushed the back of the shoe and the structure of the entire back of the shoe was damaged to the point where I could no longer wear them because they wouldn't stay on properly and were very uncomfortable. Since they were broken, I didn't bother trying to return them.

Worst Trail Running Shoes out there
The Nike Air Alvord VI has to be the worst pair of athletic shoes I've ever worn. They weren't ever very comfortable, but I got over that. What I couldn't stand was how in about a week, the upper was falling apart at the seams, and the sole was flattened. The support was completely gone and they had no traction because almost all the lugs were worn down.
