Excellent Women's Backpack
Last year I bought the Osprey Flare and was a big fan until warm weather rolled around and I found that the straps kept slipping off of my shoulders. I decided to switch to a backpack specifically designed for women, and have been extremely happy! I have the backpack in Cornflower, which is really pretty - it has a slight greyish tone to it that keeps it from being too overwhelmingly blue. It is extremely comfortable and the shoulder straps are not too far apart. I've been able to fit a surprising amount of of stuff into it (laptop, charger, books, shawl), and because the backpack is designed to keep things fairly close to the body, it doesn't look huge even when it's full. I haven't tried wearing it out in pouring rain, but the lining also looks like it is pretty water-resistant. In case it does rain, I find the side-pocket is the perfect size to keep a small umbrella. The one drawback of the backpack is that, because of the design of the opening, it can be difficult to see or access items in the bottom of the pack, so if you tend to carry lots of small things, this might not be ideal for you.

Great backpack for the business side of life
This backpack is very streamlined making it easy to commute to work and grad school. Great laptop sleeve keeps everything organized. The backpack was much smaller (in depth) than I expected and I doubt I will be able to fit the many books I have to carry back and forth to school. The design of the pack is perfect for transporting files and your latptop. The limited amount of outside storage compartments makes it easy to keep the bulk down which makes for better agility when biking to work/school. I ordered the Jet Black and it certainly was more of a charcoal grey. The interchangeable straps are bright green, bright pink, and brown. Nice to have options but would like to see a set of different colors. Overall the pack is super stylish (I get compliments on it everywhere I go) and has the comfort and functionality that I expect from any Osprey pack. I love the pack, it's a good buy!

flapjill rocks
i just purchased this pack for carting my laptop to/from work & i couldn't be more pleased. this is my second osprey pack (i use the manta 25 for trail runs) & definitely not my last. the fit is excellent & streamlined & the capacity for extras (lunch, sweater, notebooks) is surprisingly large. the laptop compartment is padded and closest to your back; the computer itself (my 15inch fits just right - snug enough that it's not moving around during transport but not so snug that it's difficult to drop in) is secured in the sleeve with a generous velcro closure. this is my go-to, utility pack whenever i'm out and about with my laptop. the large outside flap closure offers excellent protection from the elements and possible thievery if you're in a crowded place with the pack (and your stuff!) on your back.
