Patagonia Men's Nano Puff Hoody

Performance and function merge in the Patagonia Nano Puff Hoody for men. This ultralight, compressible and insulated hoody is one of the lightest jackets on the market. The core of the Nano Puff Hoody is the 60-gram PrimaLoft One insulation. Its unmatched compressibility and wet weather performance make it a top choice for true alpine adventure, while its clean quilted look means it rolls great around town, too. The jackets windproof, recycled polyester shell is treated with a durable water repellant finish to help keep moisture at bay, while the quilt pattern holds the insulation in place for consistent all-over warmth. The added security of the hood provides the ultimate in full upper body insulation. The Nano Puff works great as a layering piece in foul weather and is a fine standalone shell in fair weather. Whether you wear it on the top or layered under a shell, you get the all-weather versatility of synthetic insulation. The Patagonia Nano Puff Hoody for men is a valuable tool for any winter adventure.

Light, Warm, Easy to Pack
I haven't had the Nano Puff out in really cold temperatures yet, but recently wore it over a smartwool base layer in 25F temps without wind, and it was surprisingly warm. Given how light it is, the warmth is appreciated. I also like the fact that it can be balled up into a very small space and packed away when it not needed. Since it is not down, it doesn't seem to take much time at all to fluff up when it is unpacked. I am 5'9' and 155lbs and the medium is a pretty good fit: perhaps not quite tight, and so it will accomodate a fairly thick base layer. All in all, a great product, and the build quality appears to be typical Patagonia.

Supreme Patagonia Product
Hands down one of the best insulating layers produced by Patagonia. Can be worn as a mid-insulating layer or as a standalone jacket in milder weather (>20deg). This jacket compresses down next to nothing and it's synthetic insulation is handy when things get wet. I've worn this jacket as an insulating layer on top of a light base and beneath a goretex soft-shell 95% of my time on the ski hill last year and was more than warm (provided you stay active). This jacket also is functional enough to be worn as a standalone jacket for most activities, provided the temperature does not drop below 20F. I highly recommend this product with my only caution being the outer material - be careful not to get jacket snagged on anything as the 'shell' of this coat is very susceptible to ripping/tearing if snagged. Other than that small complaint, this jacket is one of the best (in my opinion) synthetic insulators in Patagonia's lineup. Incredibly light, packable, and warm to boot.

Nano-Perfect?
This jacket is exactly what I expected - Great! I have only used it for a couple weeks of city life including some light rains & cold mornings. It's warm, but not too warm for mild weather. I haven't tested it's cold limits. It's thin (not like typical down jacket) and thus amazingly light-weight. The outer fabric feels delicate, so I find myself being careful with it (thus the 'good' rating for durability), but I suspect I'll be impressed once I take this hiking (this is a Pat product, after all). Like other Patagonia fits, I find them normal. This brand runs smaller than North Face.
