Saucony Men's ProGrid Xodus Trail Running Shoe

Great Running shoe in the snow
I have a semi-wide foot and this shoe fits great. I live in Whistler B.C. and though I don't run everyday, when I do run in the winter, its usually on a snow packed trail. These shoes have a great griping sole for the terrain I encounter. The fabric and mesh design makes for a light flexible shoe and I even like the bling of the silver and black design of the upper. I would recommend this shoe to runners like myself, athletic demanding but not avid.

Excellent flexible trail shoe
This shoe is a true trail shoe made with runners in mind. It's cushioned but not too much. There's a good rock plate. There's excellent grip with the Vibram sole. (Though apparently Vibram makes the soles for many many shoe manufacturers anyway--this time they just kept their branding.) The outsole feels durable. The fit is excellent. There aren't too many running shoe doohickeys, though it looks like it. All futuristic and webby and stuff. Saucony has never been great at making their shoes look good. But it fits very well. I'm a neutral runner with a straight D width, and most shoes fit me, so I'm not a good measure here. Narrower in the heel and wider toe box, which is classic Saucony. Nice low collar. I have a hard time with harder-core trail running shoes made by boot companies (See Lowe and Vasque et al) because their collars hit my ankles and bruise 'em. No good. There's good toe protection, there's room for a high instep, the upper is made of quite light and durable material, and most importantly for me, there's adequate cushioning. I had an old pair of Montrail Hardrocks that were, well, very hard rocks. Over 16 oz. ea. Had to give them away. They'd survive a nuclear strike, but my legs got worn out running in them. But tons of people wore them at ultras and trail races. But the Sauconys work well. Good and stiff without being bricks. Or hard rocks. Can't speak to how they drain water. But in the snow they're just fine. Virtually identical to the Razor without an integrated gaiter. I've got both and like them both. But don't always need a gaiter.

Great trail runner
Very solid shoe. Immediately after putting these on I knew they would be perfect for the steep rocky trails I like to run...and they are. The sole is as tough as a my hiking boots. The upper fits nicely, snug through the arch with an elastic band into the toe arch to keep my foot from sliding too much going downhill. I highly recommend.
