I purchased these shoes to replace another pair of North Face trail running shoes that were uncomfortable over long distances. The Fire Road II fit great and were very comfortable in the toe box and the sides where the laces are positioned. I could tie the shoes really tight for running long downhills and I did not get the pain from the pressure of the eyelets. The design of this shoe enabled me to finish a 50 mile race with virtually no foot issues.
