Lake Louisa State Park
Description - Lake Louisa State Park is the southernmost lake in a chain of thirteen central Florida lakes. The park is strictly a day use facility with a nearby day use satellite park.

Attractions - Lake Louisa State Park rests on the southwestern shore of Lake Louisa, a medium-sized freshwater lake. The park offers a quiet destination for day users, particularly anglers and equestrians. Swimmers regularly use the small-nonguarded beach on summer weekends. The park is relatively large, encompassing 4,372-acres of bald cypress, live oak and saw palmettos. Bird-watching and picnicking are other recreations enjoyed.

From the sandy shores, paddlesport enthusiasts may launch their boat. A ramped launch is available between Lakes Louisa and Lake Susan. Anglers typically catch largemouth bass, bluegill, and speckled trout.

The park's satellite location is on the shores of Lake Dixie which is 12 miles south of Clermont (two miles beyond Lake Louisa State Park). This small day use park offers a fishing pier, several picnic tables, a pavilion, and a restroom.

Future plans for Lake Louisa State Park include a paved connector road to Lake Dixie, and a campground and cabin community at Lake Louisa.

Recreation - Visitors to Lake Louisa State Park will find a small sandy beach, a horse trail that may be used by hikers, a horse trailer parking lot, and picnic tables. Launching a paddleboat from the shore is permitted. An honor box at the park entrance is in lieu of a ranger station.

Climate - Florida experiences mild, comfortable winters and warm to hot, humid summers. Summer Fahrenheit temperatures average in the mid to high 80's (28 - 29 Celsius). Winters are mild and dry with temperatures averaging 58 - 64 degrees Fahrenheit (14 - 18 Celsius). Precipitation for the central area averages anywhere from 56 inches to less than 52 inches per year. The region offers a great warm escape for outdoor recreation during the cold northern months. August and September are peak months of the hurricane season that lasts from June 1 through November 30.

Location - Lake Louisa State Park is located ten miles south of Clermont off County Route 561 on Lake Nellie Road.
