Description - Eagle Island State Historic Site was the summer home of Admiral Robert E. Peary. The island allows visitors from June 15 through Labor Day for picnicking and viewing historical landmarks. For a small fee, visitors may tour the Admiral's home. A small hiking trail is available for island explorations.

Summers are pleasant and rarely experience hot days. The visitor can expect daytime temperatures to range above 68 degrees Fahrenheit (above 20 Celsius).
