This park rests inland along the shores of the linear Pleasant Pond, located just south of Augusta and Gardiner. Many locals use this park for a quick and convenient day use destination. The park is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It charges a small entrance fee.
Recreation - This park is well known among locals who pack the park each Memorial Day through Labor Day weather permitting. This park rests on the shores of Pleasant Pond offering several boat launches, a picnic area and a guarded swimming beach. Fishing is best in nearby Kennebec River and Merrymeeting Bay. Kennebec River runs east of and parallel to the park flowing into Merrymeeting Bay. This popular bay is the site of a six river convergence that harbors a variety of migrating birds. Seasonally, the bay experiences a large salmon run. Anglers, bird and wildlife watchers enjoy this area.
