Report: I recently stayed at cain hollow. I was hoping to be able to see some sort of wildlife... the only wildlife that I was able to see was some blue jays, ospreys, woodchucks and a skunk. But other than that it is really a quiet place to camp and relax from everything. I was able to get some good fishing in. I am in hopes to actually return to Allegany State park in the fall, maybe then I will see more wildlife.

Report: I first went to Allegany (Quaker Area), when I was just 6 mo. old!! I am now 45 and I still think it is the most wonderful place in the world! I would tell everyone to go and have the best time in their lives.
since i became an adult i have organized MANY MANY trips with family and friends. one halloween (close to my b-day) I organized a big party and we pretty much the whole trails of Gypsy and Circle, about 60 people. When we lit the 100 jack-o-lanterns and the 100 luminaries, the whole rest of the park showed up!!! They brought food drink and their great memories of the park to share. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when you come to the park the first time, BE PREPARED TO STAY THE REST OF YOUR LIVES!!!!!! EVERYONE DOES!
OH YEAH, THREE OF THE GUESTS WERE BLACK BEARS SAYING GOODNIGHT FOR THE WINTER!!
I guess if I had to pick any bad point it would be the bathroom and shower situation, they leave alot to be desired, but you get lucky sometime and get hot water. BUT THATS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. I HOPE YOU LOVE IT AS MICH AS ME

Report: I agree whole heartedly with the previous comment regarding frisbees and balls in the swimming area. They should be allowed as they add to the enjoyment of the water. Most areas allow their use

Report: The swimming area does not allow frisbees or balls to be thrown in the area, nor can you play with them in the area surrounding the beach. What a stupid rule

Report: QUAKER IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL & STILL RUSTIC AREAS I HAVE EVER SEEN. SAW A BLACK BEAR UP CLOSE(BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL) AND MORE WILDLIFE HERE THAN ANYWHERE I HAVE EVER BEEN. WE MUST PERSEVERE TO KEEP THESE WONDERFUL PLACES INTACT AND AS A TREASURE FOR OUR CHILDREN. READ A WONDERFUL BOOK CALLED ALLEGANY HELLBENDER TO FIND OUT MANY NEAT, LITTLE KNOWN FACTS OF THE PARK AND ITS PAST. THIS IS OUR FAVORITE CAMPING AREA, FOR MYSELF, MY HUSBAND AND OUR TWO SONS. WE HAVE MET MANY GREAT PEOPLE AND HAVE MADE SOME TERRIFIC NEW FRIENDS FROM OUR TRIPS HERE. I COULD GO ON FOR EVER, BUT YOU GET THE IDEA. THE HARDEST THING ABOUT CAMPING HERE IS PACKING UP TO COME HOPE...
