Shikellamy State Park- Shikellamy has two distinct areas. The Packer's Island area has a large marina, picnic tables and paved trails. The marina provides access to unlimited horsepower boating on Lake Augusta that is formed by an inflatable dam on the Susquehanna River. The Blue Hill area is across the river from the marina and provides panoramic views of Packer's Island and the confluence of two branches of the Susquehanna River.

Description - Milton State Park is an island comprised of 82.43 acres on the Susquehanna River, between the Boroughs of Milton and West Milton.

The park is a lovely day use area offering playing fields and picnic grounds with access to warm water fishing opportunities on the Susquehanna River. The southern end of the island is undeveloped and used for nature study. There is a boat launch on the eastern side. The picnicking opportunities, the open fields, restrooms and hiking trails are located in the northern end. There are several parking areas with nearby water fountains.

Fourteen and half miles downstream, at the confluence of the north branch and the west branch of the Susquehanna River, is Shikellamy State Park. A 3,000 acre lake is created at this location with the inflation of a rubber dam offering unlimited horsepower boating. The park is located on SR 147 between the towns of Northumberland and City of Sunbury.

Recreation - Milton State Park is strictly a day use area which provides picnic facilities, hiking trails, a play area, ball field and soccer fields. The southern end of the island is undeveloped and used for nature study. There is a boat launch on the eastern side. The picnicking opportunities, the open fields, restrooms and hiking trails are located in the northern end. There are several parking areas with nearby water fountains.

Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Milton State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging around 24 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-4 to -2 degrees Celsius). The area's average summer temperatures range around 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 22 Celsius).

Location - Milton State Park is located in central Pennsylvania on the Susquehanna River, between the Boroughs of Milton and West Milton, with access via SR 642 off SR 147 on the east and US 15 at West Milton.
