Lake Greenwood
Description - This beautifully landscaped state park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and a number of CCC structures on the park are still in use. Five peninsulas extend out into the lake to create an abundance of shoreline. Boating and camping are two of the most popular activities at this 914-acre park. A large area of attractive undeveloped forest land is of special interest. Enjoy fishing in Lake Greenwood for bass, crappie, bream, perch, catfish, stripers.

The camping area offers 125 paved sites and 5 tent sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park also has four picnic shelters, a short nature trail and a three-mile trail.

Recreation - Lake Greenwood State Park offers opportunities for fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, and hiking.

Climate - South Carolina generally has a temperate climate, with cool winters and warm, humid summers. Snow and freezing temperatures are possible in the winter at the higher elevations. Thunderstorms are possible throughout the year but most common in the spring and summer. Tropical storms occasionally strike the coast during the hurricane season.

Location - Lake Greenwood State Park is located in western South Carolina, near the city of Greenwood. To reach the park, go 18 miles east of Greenwood on SC Highway 702.

Report: GOOD FISHING IN A BOAT OR FROM THE BANK GOOD FOR FAMILY OUTTINGS VERY PEACEFUL JUST SITTING OUT I FOUND MY FIRST HUMMINGBIRD NEST IN THE PARK RANGER VERIFIED THAT WAS ONE ALL TRIPS HAVE BEEN VERY NICE
