Description - Anderson Ranch Reservoir is formed by Anderson Ranch Dam which is part of the Boise Project. The reservoir is approximately 14 miles long, a mile wide, with depths to 315 feet, and 50 miles of shoreline.

- Recreation on this 4,730-acre reservoir is managed by the Boise National Forest. Anglers will find kokanee, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, whitefish, yellow perch, and chinook salmon. Season open year-round.
Recreation - Hiking, boating, waterskiing, and fishing are the major recreation activities at Anderson Ranch Reservoir Climate - The climate in Idaho varies with the elevation. The bottom of Hell's Canyon, Boise and other locations at low elevations receive hot summer weather. Temperatures at these elevations often reach 90 degrees or more during the summer months. At the same time the mountains will get mild temperatures with cool nights.
Winters are just as extreme with the mountains experiencing extreme conditions and temperatures. An average of 500 inches of snow falls on the Idaho highlands. Temperatures are known to dip below zero degrees F on many winter nights. The lower elevations enjoy a more mild winter season with less precipitation than the mountains. The sun is a constant throughout the year. Be sure to wear sunscreen and layered clothing in Idaho's unpredictable weather.
Location -
located southeast of Boise. Directions: from Mountain Home, drive about 20 miles east on U.S. 20 to Anderson Ranch Dam Road. Additional access around the reservoir is from the Anderson Dam or Fall Creek on improved dirt roads.
