Description - Traveling in a loop through four counties, this scenic drive takes travelers to Northwestern Iowa. The byway is referred to as a glacial trail because of its natural history as a plain created by a glacial drift. The byway crosses the picturesque waterways of Waterman Creek and the Little Sioux River through the forested river valleys. The towns along the byway carry the heritage and cultural past of the natives to the area mixed with the European settlers. Amid this beautiful country, travelers may be able to spot a windmill or two as an energy source of the present but an invention of the past.
