High Sierra State Parks and Recreation Areas - The High Sierra Region, located in central California, stretches westward from Nevada to Yosemite National Park. Lake Tahoe, eight state parks, two state historic parks, three state recreational areas, and a state reserve.
Lake Tahoe Region - Lake Tahoe lies in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the California-Nevada state line. It is one of the most popular outdoor recreation areas in the United States, offering almost endless recreation opportunities.
Route 89--Monitor Pass & Luther Pass Highways & Lake Tahoe Road - This scenic highway passes alpine forests and meadows and provides spectacular views of mountain ranges and peaks. The northern portion overlooks Lake Tahoe.
