I went to the swimming beach yesterday. Although other parts of the lake looked clear (blue from a distance) the bottom of the swimming area is a very muddy clay and the water is muddy brown. You can't see your feet as you walk in. Felt strange to be swimming in and walking on mud. Not too crowded.

have boated on Boyd for years - but stopped going. New managment is poor and the experience is too urban. If you are a jet skier and like the crowds it can be fun - just not we are into anymore.

Visited Boyd 6-15-03. Road bikes around the lake. Lake is up to maybe 80% full, Looks great for any type of recreation you prefer. Wife and kids went there the 16th to swim and had a great time.
