Overcrowed, no shade, wind blows constantly. Ants, chipmunks crawling all over everything. just a big parking lot for fishermen. Good luck fishing from shore, no luck from anyone we talked to. This is strictly a fighing hole. Go camp in Eleven Mile Canyon if you want to enjoy yourself.

North Shore has no tree coverage, trash in campsites and on shores. Had a good time but would not go back.

One of our favorite spots.
RV camping is not very shady but close to marina and boat launch.
Backountry camping sites have shade and natural bariers (big rocks) between many of the sites and are on the water.
Getting gear to back country sites is aided by having a boat to ferry it over as the trail is Rocky, marshy, steep and wooded. (in that order)
Recomend getting smaller craft out of the water by noon as the storms can really clobber you.

I went down to Elevenmile about 3
weeks ago with high hopes. I'd heard
that it had some of the best ice
fishing in Colorado.....well, after 2
days of fishing with 2 rods I pulled
in......1 fish. It was a 20 inch
Rainbow, but 1 F'ing fish? I would not
recommend this reservoir to anyone, go
to Red Feather instead.

there is no shade and gets windy, but it is fairly warm. Beware- it is one giant ant bed. Fishing is a no go unless you have a boat. The backcountry camp sites looked nice. They had lots of jr. ranger activities for kids and also they were educational. Lots of other stuff in the area though.
