I regularly go to this park with frinds to stay all day long, make a barbacue near the beach in the "Shaded picnic areas are located along the beach".
But the last time we went, we discoverd there is no more that "Shaded picnic areas". Now is "Sunny picnic area".
They took away all the forest (pine trees)
It's imposible to satay all the day and of course, make lunch.
I am very disconfort with this change.
We stopped going there... we need to find another place where to make barbacue near the beach.

We visited this park in early January. It was pretty chilly for this area, low 60's, and a bit windy, but we had a great time. The Port Everglades inlet/jetty is a must see. Drive all the way back into the park to the very last parking lot and follow the boardwalk out to the jetty. Our children loved watching the big boats come in. We saw a tug come out and guide a big cableship back in through the inlet. We saw two other big ships come back in from the ocean and we saw lots of other smaller traffic go in and out as well.
