This is a great ride for the novice. Flat with a few curves. Look for the gorilla with the kayak on your left near the start of the ride for a place to stop and browse a well equipped kayak shop. The St. Marks destination at the south terminus is perfect for relaxing and sightseeing before the 16 mile trip back. The old Posey's restaurant was destroyed but there's still a place or two to get some seafood. The fort affords an interesting place to stop and putter around before heading back.
