We spent a few hours at the spring head and some time on the trail. This place is great! It's very close to Orlando, so you don't need to drive too far. The water is nice and cold, very refreshing. It's crystal clear, the visibility it excellent. The boil (where the water comes up from the ground) is great for some skin diving. I highly recommend a mask/googles, as the further down you go the darker it gets, and without a pair, it's near impossible to see anything. The boardwalk trail was nice, it's very natural. I haven't done any canoeing there, but maybe in the future. We'll definitely head back.

Recommend going to King's Landing Canoe Rentals at the top end of the Rock Springs Run. They offer an 8-mile downstream canoe trip with rides back for only $25 per canoe. Definately the most primative and beautiful part of the river is enjoyed in this run. Call them at 407-886-0859. An outstanding 4 hour trip, well worth the money, to enjoy your company or enjoy yourself. (about 40 minutes from Orlando)

Actually, it's not the camping that's difficult - it's getting past the 'lame excuse for the month of why there is no primitive camping allowed'.
