I came across this park accidentally as I was returning from mountain biking at Camp Thunder. The water was high and the current was a little too swift for wading that day, but it made me wish I had a kayak. The view from atop the bluff of the river winding its way through the hills was breathtaking. The woods were full of dogwood and wild azaleas. There was also a beautiful lily-like flower I have not seen before. There was not a lot to do there other than look around, but the looking around was worth the trip. The park is within an hour's drive of most places in South Metro.

A regular stop for us over the last 30 years. Climb the cliffs just across the river from the main gate (no climbing gear needed), sit on a projecting boulder with your girl, and enjoy the view and lunch (smooching allowed). A good tubing river if the water levels are right.
