Excellent mid-week camping along Duke's Creek in the Raven Cliff's WIlderness Area. Weekends find people combing the woods and walking through campsites. Catch it Sunday evening through Thursday and you may find yourself quite alone with the black bears. Take Richard B. Russell Hwy north past Duke's Creek Falls. Make the first left into the new Raven Cliff's trailhead. Follow the gravel road back a mile or two to a series of primitive, free campsites. The road dead-ends about five miles back, but there are campsites dotted all along the way. Be sure to pack out what you pack in. This area has seen more than its share of disrespectful campers.
