The beaches are beautiful. Campsites are all a close walk to the beach. Bugs are bad- bring plenty of bug spray. Bathhouses are nice with hot water showers. Keep your food in your car or camper. A horse ate a hole through our tent to get to our snack food the first night we were there.

Crowded, EXTREMELY difficult to use the reservation system. Biting flies and unbelievable swarms of mosquitoes confined us to our tents much of the time. Suggestion: When buying bug spray for this trip, look for the 55 gallon drum size --- and buy at least 2!

Maryland's reservation system for this park leaves a great deal to be desired. Although I was told, when I was booking a camp site, that there were no sites available for two or three nights in a row, and that if I wanted to make a reservation I would have to do it for one site at a time and move each day. Well, I did it. But to my dissapointment, there were three campsites in the same loop (H) that were vacant all three nights we were there: sites 1, 3 & 4. so what gives???

From the forested regions to where land meets sea, Maryland's public parcels provide recreation, relaxation, and education. Many facilities possess barrier-free design.
