I stayed at one of the group camping sites with a Lutheran Pioneer group. We had our base camp in the park and resupplied there while hiking a section of the Appalachian trail. I thought that the park was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The park is perfect for any kind of outing, whether it be for lunch, to camp there for a couple days, or to resupply there when hiking the Appalachian Trail. The facilities were very clean and did not need any maintainance. Also, the view from the Washington Monmument on the top of the hill is absolutely breath taking. The wildlife there is also amazing. There are tons of birds scattered all over the park. Virginia White tail Deer also wander through the park at both dawn dusk. This park is definitely worth the visit.
