I encourage you to go to the bunkers over past the dwellings and lodges on the trails. You can actually go into them and see all of the different rooms. There are very many deep holes in the floor, so look out for them. Also, bring a flashlight with you if you intend on going into the bunker itself. It is a little freaky.

The best part about the park is the animals. There are rabbits that come out of their burrows at sunset, and we saw a cicada one summer in July. There are deer tracks all over and birds everywhere. A wonderful place to walk! The visitors center is very interesting and informative as well. Bring binoculars and your kids!

I was there on a beautiful ealy summer day (still off season?). Very quiet beautiful spot. There is a small paved loop thru the park- perfect for a tot's bike ride or roller blading. Great place to fly a kite, have a picnic at the shore, and throw a frisbee. Really beautful spot.
