As a Seneca my heart was broken when I saw this Parkway going down the middle of this beautiful area with garbage and graffitti all over the gorge and walls.I just hope the EVIL ONE who dwells there visits those who destroy HIS territory.LaSalle and President McKinley found out.

I visited the cave today (7-07-2003). It smelled very bad. People must be useing it for a bathroom. I saw lots of garbage and a dead cat in the cave.

Im actually cheating because i live two blocks away. I have grown up playing in Devil's Hole. The park is a wonderful attraction for tourists who don't mind getting a little excerise. Take the time and visit the limestone cave, but be forewarned of ignorant grafitti. appreciate it for it's history. it's only a minute from the top of the stairs. If you're an avid hiker, take the day and walk the trail down to the whirlpool steps(turn left at bottom of devil's hole steps). This way you'll gain a greater appreciation of the wildlife and the brute force of river. This park is also a fisherman's paradise, though i prefer the whirlpool region. To make the day, picnic at whatever scenic spot suits your fancy. Take your time on the steps up, the get pretty tiring. Enjoy
