My son and I arrived for a hike on June 12th. We toured the camping area, beach area, Nature pond/walk, approximately 2-3 mile hike up and down the trail (not the Nature Beaver area), and day use by the lake. This was not our first time here. The camping area was small and spots were not on the lake. Day use areas had picnic tables all along a good section of the lake. We did not check out the sand/beach area personally. There was also two pavillions for group gatherings. Bathrooms were clean. We mostly concerned ourselves with the hike which was marked well only on one end. We found it much more pleasant of a hike to start at the end of the hike and end at the "beginning". State Parks officials gave a map of the area but the hike was not on the map. Top portion of the map showed where hike went off and another went off. We did wish the park had the hike area on the give out map. The trail was well marked. When hiking the first time start where signs tell you the trail is. Trail goes uphill quite aways and flattens out at the top of the ridge and slowly goes back down ending in a steep decline. It is not an easy trail but is not difficult either. Ferns are abundant and fall time is radiant. There is not hunting in the area. We brought our own lunch. All and all, it is a wonderful place. We found that Glimmerglass on the weekends was not crowded.

My entire Family visits every September, on Labor Day. It is our annual Family picnic, including the annual Football Game and team picture. There are plenty of picnic tables, hibachi's, gret plyground, very clean bathrooms, showers at the lake, which is clean also. There is Beaver Pond to look for turtles with the young kids, thenature trail to walk quietlythrough and listen for deer(we have seen them) not to mention the deeer that just come walking through at dusk. We have such a wonderful day and yes, our names are in the covered bridge too. This trip report said to keep it "Brief" and this is as brief as I can...it still is not enough, see it for yourself and relax, enjoy a picnic, playground, walk, hike, swim, eat, nap,oh and watch out for the gulls, they will help themselves to a hotdog if you don't keep an eye on them. Have fun!
