Stony Brook is a great summer getaway. Every summer my family and I go camping there. It is a nice senic park with a lot open camping spots. Campsites 102 and 103 go fast so book ahead!

Very pristine rugged and beautiful country. The hardwoods are beautiful set against the hills and crevices. Fall is absolutely gorgeous and the park isn't crowded at all. The water in the stream is clear and refreshing. It's a totally relaxing place and the employees are friendly, helpful and know a great deal about local history. If you are looking for peaceful solitude away from everyday hustle this is the place. Not sure what it's like in winter there. My guess is you'd have the park to yourself most days. Spring, summer and fall you will see patrons but not over crowded at all. Really good place for kids to have fun for free! Be sure to research the area wildlife because you'll see it and be asked. This park holds all the beauty you have ever heard about the North East! Must visit once in a lifetime.

This is our new favorite campground! We absolutely fell in love with Stony Brook. The swimming hole and the accommodations make this park beyond compare. The staff was AMAZING. (Cheers to the 2 gentleman grounds keepers who helped me look for my lost glasses). A wonderful experience overall, and one I have already made reservations to repeat. - What a wonderful surprise when we happened upon it. You really have to visit and see its wonderful trails and the beautiful water - not to mention to stay in the immaculate and nicely spaced campsites. I highly recommend this park to everyone. We found it to be great for couples - but during our stay, we kept saying how much we wanted to recommend it to our family - especially those with young children who like to swim and play outdoors. Recommended to ANYONE!

The place is beautifful with a nice walk through some nice woods with great views of a few waterfalls. There's quite a few steps to climb but worth it.
