The good news is the view of the gorge from the upper trail is one not to be missed. Its also very accessible for people with disabilities. The really, really bad news is that the lower trail to Bridal Veil Falls is CLOSED even now (October 2004) and there is still no set date for when it will reopen and the forest service has yet to offer any hints at a timeline for the trail to be passable again. So if you're in it for nothing more than a stop to stare at the Columbia Gorge for a while, then you're in luck...but don't stop otherwise. The best bet for viewing a waterfall up close is to skip a stop at Bridal Veil entirely for now and go on to Sheppards Dell, Latourell, or Wahkeena...all of which are running exceptionally well on the day after a good rain downpour. Even this late in the year, I was still impressed with these three.
