This has got to be one of the most serene, peaceful places on earth. Absolutely beautiful! One of those spots that just makes you feel good inside. The memories bring a smile to my face. I would definitely like to go back to spend more time. The Memaloose Rest Area is where we slept (in the vehicle) and the view across the Columbia River is the most spectacular thing to see first thing in the morning! We went in May.

In October, the trees are spectacular - their leaves turning to gold. Great views of the river and island. Biggest reward, spiritual place. Toughest part, road noise, but can be blocked out. Stay several days at least.
