i have been camping at black moshannon for 5 years now and love it, i stayed at black moshannon when i was 9 years old back in the 70's, i am now 34, i convinced my husband we should take the family to black moshannon for a vacation, i told him i remember having fun when i was 9 and thought my kids would enjoy it, well as the story goes we have been going for 5 years now, and this year we have my whole entire family going. I highly recommend this park, lots to do. I will have to update my experience with the whole family.

The 25-50 people we saw were including the beach/swimming area, picnic area, boat rental area and the campground. I have been to Black Moshannon on several occasions in both the summer & winter. Both times of the year have their own beauty. We love to picnic and swim & fish there. My 8 yr old son has requested to go there again many times. Although we have never stayed at a cabin there or or camped there we have driven up to both the campgrounds and the cabins and would like to spend a longer time there one of these days. 2 yrs ago I did recommend it to a friend and we took our boys there for a day trip. They all seemed to have as much fun as we did.

Additional Information
Moshannon State Forest - The major tracts which now comprise the Moshannon State Forest were once held by large lumber companies, land holding companies and private individuals. The first purchase was 353 acres along Montgomery Run north of Clearfield on September 28, 1898, for $65.45 in delinquent taxes. The last tract of 9,909 acres was purchased from the Lehigh Valley Coal Co. in Centre County in 1956.
Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests - Pennsylvania is known for producing some of the most valuable hardwood timber in the world. The 2.1 million acres of state forest land are protected from fire, destructive insects and diseases while offering a beautiful recreation environment for the visitor. Pennsylvania's State Park system offers visitors year-round recreational enjoyment as well. Amenities include: camping, picnicking, hiking, an assortment of winter sports and the viewing of the natural biological diversity and ecosystems found within the Commonwealth.
Valleys of the Susquehanna Area - The beautiful Susquehanna River winds through fertile valleys surrounded by forest covered ridges. Anglers can explore the world-class smallmouth bass fishing in the river or Penns Creek which is known as one of the best trout streams in America.
