If you are a wildlife buff, or are interested in reptiles this is the place for you. In one day we observed deer, barred owls, and my faviorite many reptiles including a kingsnake, garter snakes, water snakes, common snapping turtles, painted turtles, sliders, northern fence lizards, five lined skinks and ground skinks. The habitat is pristine, and words cant discribe its beauty. look for snakes along the shore of the lake. I must say this is my favorite natural area. ( ive been to quite a few too, the adirondack state park is a fav!)

Watch for big turtles below the dam. We saw a great specimen, probably right at 2 feet of carapace, in the weedy grass near the shore. Not sure if it was a common or alligator snapper (we were up on the levy). We are from Little Rock, always try to get out and hike at Radnor when we are in Nashville. Terrific place.
