A storm came through on our visit, so it was very windy! But Sucia Island is so Beautiful that the high winds did not matter. Lots of wildlife from Eagles to Otters! It was nice to visit the island before the hundreds of summer visiters arrive! I felt like the island belonged to me for 4 days! Good place for lunch is at Ewing Cove. Great fossils at Fossil Bay, both terrestrial (north side) and marine (south side), but limit your fossil hunting to pictures, so future guests can see them too.

A friendly tip to save you a lot of time. The outfit that can get you to Sucia is North Shore Charters on Orcas, we Spent about a day trying to find a way there, I will say , it was well worth it. Good luck

We were staying on Orcas Island and heard about a mountain biking trip to Sucia offerd by North Shore Charters, and decided to go, it was the most beautiful and exciting ride we had ever been on. We would highly recommend taking this trip whether you ride or hike, it is quite possibly the best value in the san juans.
