Description - Admiral Nimitz Museum and Historical Center encompasses seven acres, that include a historic structure, military machinery, interpretive exhibits and a peace garden. Through a diverse array of exhibits and interpretive trails the site tells the story of Admiral Nimitz, from his boyhood home in Fredericksburg to his work in World War II commanding U.S. naval operations and eventually accepting the Japanese surrender. The site is open year round.
