Description
- Beacon Rock State Park covers 4,481.89 acres with 9,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Columbia River. The local attractions include 33 campsites, 71 picnic sites, five comfort stations, five kitchen shelters, two Adirondack shelters in group camp, two primitive campsites, two boat launch ramps, a dock, an unorganized group camp area, a one mile trail to the top of Beacon Rock, and an 8.5 mile loop trail to Hamilton Mountain and return. In addition, there are 13 miles of fire road open to equestrian, mountain bike, and hiking use.
Recreation - Activities at the park include picnicking, camping, hiking, playground activities, fishing, boating, rock climbing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Climate - Influenced by the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains, this area is characterized by a generally wet and temperate climate. Winters are cool and cloudy with rain and some snow. Maximum winter temperatures are normally in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm and relatively dry with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively. Location -
